Tasty Tuesday

Bakers! On your mark, get set, baaaaaake!

Today commenced our first “Tasty Tuesday” event, where we were tasked to create a homemade baked good. As we gathered around the lunch table we looked down at the assortment of treats, ranging from savory to sweet, and couldn’t help but to reflect on past episodes of The Great British Baking Show and think, “Would this get a Paul Hollywood handshake?” I did not partake in the baking, rather, I had the privilege of assessing the finished products. I assure you, there was not a soggy-bottom in sight. Noah made garlicy, flaky, “Red Lobster inspired” cheese biscuits. Sarah concocted strawberry milkshake cookies (a delicious first for all of us). Eva made a grand, buttery pound cake. Salina baked a flan-esque coconut pie. John served us a croissant pocket filled with sausage and veggies. Lastly, Christina and the kids, I mean “Chris” baked delicious chocolate chip cookies.

To top off our baked good lunch, Chris’s son Theo, was courteous enough to pour us a bottle of his finest sparkling cider. Needless to say, there was a major sugar crash that afternoon, to which we decided all future “Tasty Tuesdays” will be held at the end of the day.

We can’t wait to show off our culinary skills to you on the next round of Tasty Tuesday!
